Appearance

Tomi is small and svelte for a Hrothgar as suits his profession. His fur is a pearlescent white shot through with almost luminous green highlights and patterns reminiscent of clouds that slowly move across his body. His posture is deliberately straight-backed, and his style of dress is neat and urbane.

Personality

Tomi isn't always the easiest person to get along with. He's sharp-tongued, prone to hyperbole, and quick to let anyone he doesn't like know it. He projects an effete, urbane demeanor, even if it's almost entirely fabricated. Keep pace with him, though, and you might just find a loyal friend beneath it all.

Biography

Tomi is a bombastic chocobo jockey based in Ul'dah, but that's not where his story started. The product of two Doman resistance fighters, the improvised field hospital he was born in was bombed by Garleans and, caught in an impossible situation, his father, a shaman, summoned a passing spirit for aid and traded their lives to it in exchange for Tomi's protection. Now bound to a dual-aspected yokai, Tomi is plagued by vast swings of fortune and misfortune as he tries to find his way through a difficult and dangerous world.

Hooks

• Spooky Spirits: Tomi is haunted by a two-aspected yokai whose aether is permanently bound to his own. While one of those aspects is generally benevolent, the other is capricious and cruel.

• Chocobo Jockey: Tomi is a talented chocobo jockey and trainer. His bright blue chocobo, Ace, is his closest friend and the nearest thing he has to (non-haunted) family.

• Gambler: Tomi has unnaturally good luck in games of chance. While this seems like a blessing, it manifests in problematic ways as often as not.
